Noticed the clouds around 3:45. Sunrise 4:33. Today confirmed instrumental nature of mesospheric clouds from February 24. There is evidence for the observation of February 21. www.astronomy.ru/forum/index.php/topic,2799.msg2319247.html#msg2319247 There are two observations from Bryansk February 24 and 25 in the evening. Very nicely made map edicara. John Rowlands has written a very good and interesting "scientifitic" paper on the NLC appearing after the russian fireball. It can be read here: www.scribd.com/doc/127545910/Winter-Noctilucent-Clouds-2013He also thinks that Noctilucent clouds meaning night shining cloud could be used on NLC not necessarily forming at the expected altitude.

Not quite how I put it; more of a caution that NLC does not, as a term, specify what layer of the atmosphere it refers to.

Well, being accurate, the real NLC's scientific name is PMC alias polar mesospheric cloud. But I think this name is not exact because many lower latitude observations are present, very far from being called "polar". :-) We can play with names but still the phenomena remains the same

Egor Egor, you posted two graphs in your forum about the mesophere temperature and humidity. Could you please tell me the source of those measurements? They seem to be very interesting! Also they correlate strongly with the Andenes LIDAR signals for that day.
