I took these photos (https://picasaweb.google.com/fred.prata6/NoctilucentClouds?authkey=Gv1sRgCP2378XJlYLlKw) yesterday from Kjeller (Lillestrøm), Norway at ~18:20 CET (before the sun had set). I was not sure what caused them but perhaps they are noctilucent clouds?

Hi Fredp, Welcome aboard. No these aren't NLC. For information and advice on how to identify NLC go to www.nlcnet.co.uk/All the details are there. However your pictures are great!, what you have is some dense cirrus, possibly coming in with a jet stream on a frontal system, a nice halo and the "lens" shaped lower clouds are a form of altocumulus lenticularis. These indicate high wind speed at mid levels. Lovely shots. Cheers, Bill.
