Hi,
at the moment I'm trying to build a nlc-webcam, but I have some problems with the mintron camera (MTV-62V6HP). The pictures seem to be full of sharpening artefacts and the resolution is reduced in frame interation mode. Is there a possibility to reduce the sharpening? Are there other cameras with similar sensitivity on the market?
Regards,
Rainmaker

Hi,
I have no experience with Mintrons but know that some Canon compact cameras (a520, for instance) have been successfully used to automatically record NLC. Maybe Bill Ward can help here?

Hi, I've done LOTS of video recording with Watec cameras but never a Mintron so I'm not sure what the problem actually is. On the one Mintron I've seen the camera settings could be altered by using an on screen menu system. I don't recognise the model you have so this may not be appropriate. If there is the possibility of somehow re-setting the camera I would do that in case there is some problem with any on board DSP which my be hanging up. Is it a colour or monochrome camera? Sorry I don't have much more to offer. Cheers, Bill. Bill.

Hi,
the problem has been solved, I found a hidden menue where the sharpening could be deaktivated. The image is a little bit soft now, but this can be solved in VirtualDub.
@ Bill,
I have never uses Watec cameras because they are black and white. Instead I used my ten year old camcorder and lots of imageprocessing, but for a webcam this is not a good idea.
The Mintron modell I use is a colour camera and very sensitive, may be too sensitive.

Hi, my nlc-webcam is now online. You can find it at nachtleuchtende-wolken.de/nlc-webcam.html . There are still some problems with the uploadsoftware witch somtimes causes a systemcrash, but I hope that this problems will be solved in the future. Regards, Rainmaker
