There was an extensive display of NLC from around 02:00 to 03:00 UTC this morning seen from Carshalton, Surrey, England. 
The display filled most of the sky from N to E.
Need to check my images - I will post some to this thread later.
Looking at the cloud on the EUMetSat site there appears to be extensive cloud N of my position. That in the NE seems to be lower perhaps that was enough to keep them below the line of sight to the NLC ?
