I was expecting to see posts and pics today but since nobody has yet... I was watching the northern horizon about 11pm last night and a fairly strong white glow developed behind regular cloud; peaking about 11:15pm and gradually fading away; gone by 00:30. The colour was distinctive NLC, and there was a filament structure to the right. From the brightness I was expecting it to grow into a decent display; but it did not. Not enough to get the camera out, but it was there! (Paignton, South Coast, UK)
