Hi,
Most of you will know that a network of automatic NLC camera stations has been operating since 2006. The project is the work of Peter Dalin at the Swedish Institute for Space Physics. The stations are based across Canada and Europe (all at around 56N Latitude) with the Scottish camera housed in Port Glasgow and operated by Iain McEachran. For the 2009 season we would like to compliment the Port Glasgow camera with another station. Ideally this would be located 20-40km east or west of Port Glasgow. To the east this line passes through Bearsden/ Milngavie - Kirkintilloch/Lenzie - Cumbernauld. The line to the west falls across very sparsely populated areas starting at a point SE of Dunoon then passing close to Inverchaolain, Colintraive, West Glen and Melldalloch.
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone based in Central Scotland who would like to help with this project. Please reply here or contact me by private message for more information.
Thanks...
Tom
