I went out at approx 10.30 BST NLC started appearing very faintly in the North and Western sky. I stayed out until 12.00 midnight leaving very bright NLC. It is still visible now. Elevation is between 40-80 degrees from horizon. Widespread from West to North East from Falkirk in Central Scotland. Images to follow.

Yes, this is a major display. I've just walked back from our local (pub) after spending the last hour or so stood outside with said locals. Health and safety reasons meant I didn't have my camera, but several people were photographing the event via mobile phones(!!) I look forward to the images from this - it's big!

I've never seen NLC so widespread. I under estimated the elevation..... from horizon to approx 80-85 degrees without a doubt. I was almost taking pictures over my head.
This is an amazing night !

I almost missed this one, have been watching TV and didnt bother looking as it was pretty cloudy earlier. It was actually my daughter that told me she thought 'those cloudy things' were outside lol (she's only 12 and can already spot NLC, I've got her hooked).
Great pics everyone, have taken some myself but won't be uploading them until tomorrow as I wanna keep watching lol.

That was just awesome. ... André André, that's more than beautiful! As I see the circumstances were perfect for you, at this moment it seems to be the display of the year. Congratulations!
