Hello DT here from NZ,
So, glad to know there is actually a forum for NLC related phenomena, awesome... great stuff.
I have a few question/s which I hope somebody might be able to throw some light on re: NLC's here we go...
Could NLC's have an affect on the weather pattern here for us inhabitants on terra (?) and, if so would the appearance then of NLC's be termed an earth weather event phenomena also along with space weather - grief, I do hope that makes sense?
Looking forward to any thoughts and/or insight's... thank you, take care.
DT

Hey there DT, welcome to the forum! Not sure I can give you a definitive (read sensible!) annswer here, all I know from my perspective here in England is that when other observers are reporting great NLC, some mechanism somewhere has managed to plonk a great load of tropospheric cloud overthe top of me so I miss the blessed display! So maybe they do influence the weather, or maybe i'm just unlucky

Goodmorning markt,
Thank you for your welcome (awesome) and for your time in which to reply to me it is appreciated, thank you again.
Well, hopefully you may yet still get to experience and enjoy a night shining display before the NLC season ends for 2009 (mid August) with no tropospheric cloud (could do with some wind I reckon (smile)
Wishing you clear twilight skies, take care.

Thanks DT! Yes, I hope the NLCs put on a final show for us, when we're Perseid watching would be good and would make a great photo. Mark
