I just wanted to share my images of this event: HERE they are.

Max elevation: somewhere around 40 Deg maybe more.
Max Brightness: 2-3 more like 3
Time: UT 2040 - 2300

The night of July 2/3rd was completely overcast however a large gap suddenly formed in the NW from 02.58 - 03.10 BST revealing a faint (type 2) NLC display at a height of 10 degrees above the horizon consisting of white coloured type IIb bands. It was swallowed up soon after by tropospheric cloud. There was no NLC activity in the N or NE. This is my first sighting of July.
