Hi, Nice images both. Jim, what camera do you use for the time lapse? Cheers, Bill.

Hi Bill, It's a Canon EOS 550D. I have installed the Magic Lantern software onto it since this has an intervalometer which is great for timelapse. The camera fires every 4 seconds. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMDD56RhStwThe lens is a Samyang 35mm. This is a manual lens but it is great for focusing. It arrived from Poland with full tracking of the package. philipbloom.net/2011/05/12/samyang35mm/I think this lens would be able to do live video but I keep forgetting to hit the record button! Cheers!

Hi, Thanks, I picked up a Canon 1000D from amazon a short while back as it was the cheapest one I could find with live view on it. I found the auto focus on my other cameras a bit unreliable, depending on exact circumstances, so wanted to try an alternative. We'll see how this goes over the summer. Cheers, Bill.

Hi, I've been doing some tests and I think the move to live view was indeed a good idea. All of my good lenses are older manual focus Nikons. I don't have the best eyesight and being able to enlarge the live view frame looks like it's going to be a godsend! Looking forward to trying it out for real. Cheers, Bill.

Capella is also a great help with live view.

I know exactly what you mean. It's a perfect target. Everyone probably does the same. I glued little home made "vernier" bits of paper onto all the focus rings of my lenses so that I could incrementally adjust the focus. Bill.
