Hi all, I should have mentioned this before, but, the book 'Observing Noctilucent Clouds' by M. Gadsden and P. Parviainen, originally published in 1995, is now available in pdf format: www.iugg.org/IAGA/iaga_pages/pdf/ONC_Sep06.pdfThis is the standard observing guide all NLC observers now use and well worth reading if you're new to NLC observing. Yes, it's very useful to have this online now. I think the original has been out of print for some time. The difference between the two texts is minimal, but, the original has 'real' photographic prints in the image section - must have been quite expensive to produce but they are very impressive. That being said, the scans of the prints in the pdf version are pretty good.

Had a good read through that Tom and it was well worth having a refresher course on NLC observation. I was particulary impressed by an image taken showing an incredible net structure like a fishing net being pulled at each end creating diamond shaped sections - all reflecting on a body of water - incredible!
