When can we expect the start of the season for observing noctilucent clouds in the northern hemisphere? In the last 15 years, this date has been considered the discovery of noctilucent clouds by the AIM satellite. We have no data on temperature and humidity in the mesopause region at an altitude of 80 km. However, we applied a simple statistical method, considering the dependence of the mean atmospheric temperature on the isobaric surface of 10 hPa and the date of detection of noctilucent clouds. It was found that the most probable range of temperature on the isobaric surface is 10 hPa, upon reaching which noctilucent clouds develop, 237.5 - 234.5 K. With a probability of 0.8, noctilucent clouds are detected at a temperature value of 235-236K with a median value of 235.34K. We have daily data of zonal air temperature (60 - 90N) on the surface of 10 hPa, as well as a forecast with a horizon of 10 days. ozonewatch.gsfc.nasa.govmeteoweb.ru/astro/nc-mod.phpEgor Attachments:
