I can see bright NLC now (23.55 BST) above clouds in the north immediately below Capella. Anyone else confirm? waiting for trop cloud to clear away...

Overcast here at the moment - 2337 UT - and not looking likely to clear soon...
Would it help to have a board for alerts/early sightings only?

Sky is completely overcast here now. Only seen the suspected display for perhaps 30 seconds then it was obscured. It is unlikely to clear up here so take the sighting with a large pinch of salt unless confirmation arrives.
I think the 'alert' board is a great idea! Anyone else?

I seen what I thought might be NLC at around the same time last night but not so bright here. I had to really let my eyes get used to the dark to see them properly so they were quite feint and couldn't be completely sure. Thought I'd would check here first to see if anyone spotted anything lol.

I was looking through my \'archive\' of images I took this season. I think there may be feint bands close to the horizon between the street lamps (?) Image has Venus and also Castor & Pollux clearly visible. 35mm f2.8 1/3 sec iso1600 22.00ut
