I noticed earlier the launch of the Phoenix probe to Mars, on board a Delta rocket. www.spaceweather.com carries an article on this and show a picture of a 'manmade' NLC as a result of the rockets exhaust gases. This got me thinking... Is there any evidence to show that NLCs drift around the globe in a similar manner to tropospheric clouds? I noticed that following the Space Shuttle Atlantis launch on june 8th there was a rash of NLC sightings from western Europe on june 11th - nlcnet.proboards77.com/index.cgi?board=chat&action=display&thread=1181620092 - pure coincidence or had the exhaust gases from the shuttle tracked eastwards reaching western Europe a couple of days later? From this am I stretching the bounds of reason by suggesting we could see NLCs in a couple of days time here in the UK as a result of the Phoenix launch? I'd be interested to know what you guys and gals thoughts are on this

As a foot note to this, the Shuttle Endeavour blasts off today - another source for seeding NLC's?
