We had a surprisingly bright and wide display on the 8th of August, around 23:30. Unfortunately it disappeared quite quickly, around midnight nothing could be seen anymore. I decided to go back outside when the nlc:s would return from the Earths shadow. Around 2am I saw the first dim clouds and about half an hour later, the display was looking good.
The clouds started to disappear again around 3:30 and I saw the last dim fibers some thirty minutes later. Nice, but not so bright or wide display. Quite typical for August
