A quick intro about myself: I began observing NLCs quite late, my first sightings are from 2016, at the time I've looked for them only occasionally. In the next year I did not see any, however in 2018 I've started to observe them regularly from Hungary. During the 2019 and 2020 seasons I was in Romania, near the Carpathian mountains at a location very unfavourable for NLC observation, but still managed to see a few of them (although missed all big Europe-wide displays, partly because of weather, partly because of the geological position). In those years I've began to submit my observations to the database and also discovered this forum (and learned a lot from lurking here and reading the discussions). Last year I moved back to Hungary for summers (and it seems I will be here for the next seasons), and finally I've got to see some nice displays again. I've decided to register here so I can post early warnings when I'm able (in the evening it gets dark much earlier here than in NW Europe), share stories of spectacular or interesting observations and ask questions (I still have a lot to learn). I wish you all a good season with nice weather and lot of NLCs, I'm looking forward to see your pics!
