John Mc Connell has informed me of a developing NLC display low in the NW through a gap in the clouds at 23.00 UT consisting of faint bands and possible other structure in the N. Can anyone confirm?

First detected here at 2240 UT, azi 020-035 (NW was overcast). Initially faint, diffuse bands and patchy veil but quickly formed some complex structures. Cloud spoiled the view. I'll upload some images later.

Yeah, I was watching those last night until 0015UT. It was around 2300UT I first spotted a couple of small faint bands that slowly vanished but it got a little brighter as time went on.
got some photos that I'm uploading to the pc just now.

I was looking at a similar time through gaps and saw signs of NLC's, tropospheric clouds were moving quickly, and in the time it took me to get my camera I was totally overcast Tonight looks like more rain here however I always remain optimistic of clear skies as we move into the weekend
