Erno Berko (Deepsky) phoned me to ask reporting some faint bands now in Hungary, same like he had seen two days ago. I also see them, very faintly, but he has a better place to observe.

Hi Erno,
i had a look on your picture. I guess, this is a combination of haze and dust due to the actual heat. I have observed the same effect yesterday from Vienna/Austria. It can also be observed by the influence of faint cirrus clouds.
Clear skies Matthias

Seen this display from 23.10 - 01.00 UT A bright Veil with blue and white colour. It was a strong enhancement to the natural twilight. Veil only with no complex structure.

Clear skies Matthias It's never easy to tell from photographs but I too think this is haze producing a contrast effect across the twilight arch.

July 17-18 update: I had fine clear skies from 2215 UT through to around 0145 UT when bands of tropospheric cloud formed low to the north. Fog started to form at 0150 UT and observing became impossible by 0205 UT. I didn't see any NLC.
