26/27th NLC Display

Well im well disappointed with my images today. I rang all the way home last night from the girlfriends and when I got home rushed about looking for my gear, when i finally got the stuff I ran out to the end of the road and set up only to realize I had forgot my battery. Ran all the way back in and then just decided to go out to the pitch. It was ok apart from the lights but it was windy. After all that 99% of my images are blurred due to the strong wind

Excellent images! This display must be about the best we've had, so far, for 2008. Hope there's more to come!

Yea Tom it was very bright indeed! Give me quite a shock when I seen the glow from it over the houses!

There was a beautiful NLC display visible on webcams from the Czech Republic yesterday evening.

Very useful for early spotting NLCs seems to be the NLC monitor page with images from hi-res webcams located in the northern part of the Czech Republic (roughly 50.7°N, 16°E). NLCs were visible on webcams yesterday evening from 20:30-21:45 UT (22:30-23:45 CEST). Here is the link:

You cant say that! I watch and image NLC for the pure joy that I get from watching those stunning complex structures and watch how they play in real time, not just for the image factor.

Photos taken at 23:00-01:00 local time. I was on holiday in Jastrzębia Góra, north of Poland.
