Hi, here are some results from Rostock / NE Germany. Not a very bright display but not a small one! At end of observation height was about to 30°. Question: Is that type IV / whirls? It is maybe hard to see from that single image. Hi Olaf,
The animation is very good. I don't think these are whirls as such. Looking at your pictures I would have said these were billows coming out of a band. There is no doubt they are curved elements though.
This is good example of how difficult trying to put any classification system into practice is. Even with the broadest types there is still come doubt!

Often I asked myself if I found the correct classification. It is easier to observe + classify cirrus at daytime... I think. Thanks Bill
