Strong, low NLC at Apuldram, West Sussex (50o48.3N, 0o43.1 W) 2150-2230, seen through heavy tropospheric interference. Ought to be good for Midlands/East Anglia! Glad to have broken my duck for 2008 - begining to worry the tropospherics would deny me this season!

The display was quite short lived. i observed it for just over half an hour before it faded away, maybe it will return in the early morning. My Friend also saw it from Southampton which is about 5 miles south from me, in fact, when i called him to say, he knew strait away what i was going to say, he was just about to call me! Here is a photo, it shows its quite low on the horizon, its below Capella, i would estimate 15 degrees alt, and seemed more visible in the north west.

Good call and photo Jay. Nothing seen in the morning skies from Selsey, West Sussex. I did take a number of photos just in case and will examine these in more detail when my current backlog subsides a bit.
