Just going dark here (21.30ut) and already there's obvious signs of bright NLCs visible - bright banded structures, stretching from NW through to NNE and possibly beyond (limit of view from the window next to my pc!) upto approx 20deg in altitude. Glad I charged the battery on the camera earlier! I'll get some pics and get them up asap. Happy observing folks, i'm off to take in the spectacle now

Update...
This WAS the brightest display i've had of the season so far, though quite literally in the past 10 mins has started to fade quite considerably in the NW, even though there is a bank of cloud up to about 5-7deg for me due north very bright NLCs can be seen behind this.
I suspect that this is going to be a very dynamic display tonight - looks like bleary eyes for me at work tomorrow...

Missed most of the display because of a lot of cloud but clearly what could be seen through the clouds is definitely the brightest display I've seen since the beginning of the month (socked in with cloud since then) 23:30

Cracking display here at Apudram in West Sussex, with bright, intricate forms to 15 degrees in the northwest, and some intense stuff low down. Unlike Sunday's (13-14 July), little tropospheric cloud interference. My best since the 2006 July 14-15 display!
