To celebrate more than 1000 hours of visual comet hunting I have put together a short article as a 'primer' for anyone who is interested in taking on their own comet hunting programme. The article can also be found in a future edition of Astronomy Ireland's 'Astronomy & Space Magazine' (possibly the August edition) but for everyone else I have included it on my web site below... www.nightskyhunter.com/Comet%20Hunting%20-%20A%20Primer.html Thanks for your time and I hope some of you will find it interesting.

Very interesting article Martin, thanks for sharing it with us all Congratulations on your 1000 hour milestone! *saves link in favourites* Lets hope we are rewared with a nice view of Linear at some point this weekend. I stayed up all last night until dawn in the hope of clear skies to no avail, now i've got up and it's morning and it's wall to wall sunshine! Typical!

Thanks for the feedback Mark and I am glad you like it. I was clouded out last night for LINEAR but I did find a new Kreutz sungrazer on the SOHO LASCO C3 images which was quite exciting. I'm hoping for another look at LINEAR tonight. Clear skies and best of luck Mark.
