With the volcanic activity over Alaska at the moment folks in North America are getting some nice sunsets. Anybody got any pics? I wonder if when the ash spreads further around the globe we'll see any evidence of it here. I can't imagine it takes too long at the heights it's at. See www.spaceweather.com/archive.php?view=1&day=29&month=08&year=2008 for more pics etc.

HI Mark
I am pretty sure you can see it already. In the german Meteoros Forum (http://www.meteoros.de/php/viewtopic.php?t=6329&highlight=) many people write about very unusual sunsets in Germany.
So keep an eye on the dusk!

So keep an eye on the dusk! André I had a feeling this might be the case. I just need some clear skies! Last night was 'supposed' to be clear, and today is 'supposed' to be sunny and hot, but instead it is just grey and overcast - typical British Summer! Clear skies and regards, Mark

Great picture there John! I've noticed a few of these volcanic sunsets now, unfortunately sods law has meant i've never had my camera with me when i've seen them, still, it's good just to see them never the less...

Hi Mark, I haven't been able attribute any beautiful sunsets here in Iqaluit to the volcanic eruptions in Alaska however this is a great topic.
I would like to say to Pixaerial that your photo is amazing.
