Great shots Mike! Which part of Iceland are you in? Iceland is one of my favourite places, I was there in october just gone for a week and are looking to go out there again next february for a week again. Hopefully by then solar activity will have picked up a bit and auroral activity will have gone from minimal and ok to something with a bit more kick to it...
Got me looking back at my pickies, was difficult to find a particular one that was a fave, but I like this one >>>
I'm getting round (still!) to making a gif file of a sequence of them I took :s
We are spending some time in the South, up on the Glaciers, with our special trucks, and will be moving North to near Myvatn after the weekend. Been poor weather and warm, so travelling has been difficult, but weather will stabilise this weekend, and hopefully get some clear weather and some Northern lights!
We have had the most amazing time again in Iceland..the only thing missing is the volcanic eruption...but we can wait til next time. Solar minimun has meant few good northern lights..but again we can wait. Just a few more photos of this fantastic place...
We have now returned from 4 weeks of adventure in Iceland. Its such a special place particularly for the inspiring natural beauty. The high latitude, clean air, special light conditions and the constantly changing weather makes for a perfect place for taking photographs...and boy did we take a lot!
I have put together a few photos showing an overview of the trip, for anyone who is interested.
