That's now 6 nights in a row of NLC from here. Spotted from 23.10 - 03.00 BST (suspected earlier) extending from the NW - NE 120 degrees in azimuth and 12 degrees high in the form of a glowing white-green type I Veil with soft edges. Not a very exciting display by an means. Obsv made in low level murk with scattered high level trop cloud (cirrostratus). I took one image from the country...

Nice pic mate Being in the west is definitely best at the moment, this easterley airlow keep draggings seat fret and cloud in over much of England at the moment... Next week should herald a change in the wind direction though, and while this will probably bring more unsettled conditions i'm hoping gaps in between weather fronts might coincide with night time... Kinda better hopes of getting a look than I have at the moment

I hope it clears up for you soon Mark. I know you guys have been getting very bad weather lately but I guess it has to change sometime and when it does the best NLC display of the season could be waiting Ever since the Lunar eclipse in March we have been getting an abundance of clear nights, it has really been quite amazing. This was also true for the 2006 season from here.

It didn't clear last night (09-10) until around 0145 UT but even then there was a very thick haze to 5 degrees. No obvious NLC above this through to 0230 UT, when I gave up.

If it stays like this I hopefully should get ISS and any potential NLC's all in one frame *gets 10mm camera lens out*
