forgot to add that i took these frames with my nikon coolpix 4500, ISO 100, f/2.6. 20 second exposures each. taken from my home in county mayo. s. ireland. which is usually cloudy.. but for once i can say it actually stayed clear

Hi James That is an excellent NLC animation! I spent quite a while watching it A meteor zipping down through the display would be the icing on the cake! Well done. I was clouded here despite periodic checks all through the night but had no luck. James, would you care to tell us how you made this animation? many others on here are interested in undertaking a project like this. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing more of your images. I hope you don't mind but I used your first image on my NLC gallery - credited of course

hi martin.
glad you like this. its cool eh! NLC's really come alive!
i went looking for an freeware animation software on the net and i came across a freeware called beneton movie gif. its very easy to run, you can load bmp, jpg, tiff, lots of formats and it will save them as a gif animation.
type in freeware beneton movie gif and see how you get on. if you can't find it i will find the link and post it here for you. do let me know how you get on?
