Hi anyone that may look in during our Northern hemisphere NLC off season . It could be of interest to keep an eye on www.aad.gov.au/default.asp?casid=28259 which give activity at the Aussie Davis station in the Antarctic. They use Lidar to probe NLC and there are piccies on the web from last February when, for the first time , they were observed there visually too. www.aad.gov.au/default.asp?casid=34316Their NLC season is the inverse of ours !

Thanks for the heads up! Makes interesting reading... To think, 6 months ago we were eagerly anticipating the start of the NLC season ourselves...
