Ok folks, potentially an interesting proposition here. If you look at the finder chart below you will see that as comet mcnaught makes its closest approach to the sun it is visible in the northern hemispere of the sky. Estimates put the comet as reaching naked eye visibilty towards the end of june, however, hopefully, it will be fairly easy to record photographically. The tail of the comet will roughly be pointing upwards from the horizon. Now, comets are notoriouslly fickle things, so it could be brighter or it could be fainter. However it presents an interesting opportunity when hopefully NLC should be in full swing. I for one will certainly aiming for a NLC / comet shot

On Monday the comet was well visible with the naked eye here in Veszprem, Hungary, since then we had lots of moisture in the air, but today it dried a bit, hopefully th RH won't be too high before dawn too. I hope to have pics with NLC and McNaught together soon. :-)
