Hi All, I'm surprised to see that this was published in 2007. I've browsed through the JGR site and I've never had this one flagged. A good find Len! The citation is interesting as it claims 1-2% error but there are no error bars on the graph. 7.x e-6?, I'd like to see how they calibrated the albedo. I can feel a trip to the library coming on.... cheers, Bill.

Hi, The papers are heavy going but interesting. Being naturally skeptical I'm still not 100% convinced that these are absolutes but then again I'm not geophysicist so this is not to detract from the work. However as a example of how difficult these analysis are; in reference to how NLC are anti-correlated to solar activity and I quote "We find a time lag of half a year (with an uncertainty of one year)" So the uncertainty is twice the size of the measurement, mmm....
A re-read and some more thought is required but tally ho, a few months and we'll be back at it! Cheers, Bill.
