I was fortunate enough to be in dark, clear skies with a low horizon last night. Spent pretty much from just after sundown to midnight looking towards the northern horizon. Alas, no signs of any NLC - too early in the season...

Always worth checking, but it would be very surprising if we saw anything from the UK before the last week of May, and more typically, the first week of June. The conditions aren't right yet: xweb.geos.ed.ac.uk/~hcp/meso_ts/

A case of looking of more in hope than reason I suspect, I looked again last night (20th) and there was nothing - however the twilight sky does look nice on these warm(ish!) late spring evenings. The graph is excellent - many thanks for the link! Will be interesting to see how the plot pans out over the weeks ahead!
