I believe I finally managed to see some NLC activity in the early hours of June 27. I started watching at 21h 30m UT on June 26, until close to midnight, by which time there was no visible NLC activity from my location (Stoke-on-Trent). However, at 01h 00m UT, when I next checked, it was clear that there were some wavy tendrils of noctilucent cloud appearing near the northern horizon. I watched the display improve over the next hour. By 02h 30m UT on June 27 it was beginning to fade as the sky brightened. The images in the links below were taken at 02h 08m UT and 02h 26m UT respectively, both looking out towards the northern horizon. Whilst it wasn't the strongest display I have seen, it was still a beautiful and eerie sight, and my first view of NLC for the 2011 season.
