Last night's NLC seen from Leith/Newhaven c.2am. Extensive and electric display. We were at a friends for a siree and we all stood outside and marvelled at the show! Attachments:

Lovely shot!
My peace was interrupted for ten minutes last night when a rather drunk family - I suspect they had come ashore from a moored yacht nearby - came to have a look at the sea. Despite being considerably worse for wear, they nevertheless remarked on the number of stars visible. NLC were pretty faint at the time, so they didn't notice those. Nor did they notice me and my flashing-lights cameras a mere 30 yards away from them!
Later, the peace was broken as nesting Guillemots became agitated and seagulls started taking to the air a good hour earlier than normal, probably due to the NLC giving the impression of late dawn.
The things you see and hear on a night out under the stars!
