July 20-21 NLC

This NLC turned out to be very frustrating to watch from here with only glimpses caught through gaps in cloud. Nonetheless, it was clearly a very bright display as you can see from the images below. Geir Øye of Ørsta in Norway captured some amazing photographs of this display showing what to me looks like a true 'Brightness 5' NLC. The images can be viewed at:
