No, but have been looking whenever possible since May 20! Missed out on the 5-6 June display imaged by Dave Briggs at Clanfield - although we're only a few miles away, on the Sussex coast it was cloudy! Often seems to be the problem with the South Downs microclimate - the 'hills' can be clear, and the coastal strip cloudy, and vice versa! Hoping for a clearance in the claggy weather over the weekend....

Yes. Just checked my log book which told me that I have seen 12 nights of NLCs this season so far of which 9 were Veil and the latest 3 being complex displays. During the incredible 2006 season I documented almost 30 nights of NLCs so I am expecting to get a similar count or higher this year clear skies permitting. Hi Neill - good to have you on here

Last night, 08-09, finally brought clear conditions with NLC present from 0008-0230UT. A rather weak and faint display but something at least! Hope there's better to come... Tom

I'm hoping tonight will provide the first positive sighting of this years season... Few thunderstorms over Wales close by that I can see the tops of, but apart from a little sky haze it's looking promising

Just nabbed my first of the season from deepest Sussex! Fairly strong type II-III, initially suspected 2140 UT, confirmed minutes late in 10x50s, and becoming strongly visible for a time round 2200 before eventually succumbing to the murk (as did Venus!) around 2225 UT. Glad to have got off the mark, with hospitalisation a fortnight away...

Too much cloud up here last night - pity, sounds and looks like a great display. Clearing up here at the moment so here's hoping.
