Yea lovely colourful images Heiko, good display.
How are you doing the time-lapse Jimal? Your video is nice and smooth, what software do you recomend for the time compression?

Hi Sonic, Many thanks for your comments and great images too. I am using a Canon EOS 600D and an EOS M. I have added Magic Lantern software to the SD Cards of each camera. Magic Lantern can be used with most of the modern models of Canon cameras. The newest models can be a bit experimental (I am using a 'nightly build' on the EOS M) If the Canon camera can shoot movies Magic Lantern can slow down the frame capture rate to 1 frame per second. This gives you an instant timelapse when you play the movie file. Here is a video of FPS override in action. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nubFO19dgsProbably still the best install tutorial: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMDD56RhStwHere is the home page. www.magiclantern.fm/The only negative is that it is confined to Canon cameras. Otherwise it is great! Jimmy

Ok thanks Jimal, Magic Lantern does sound ideal for the job, but I'm a Nikon user.
I'll shoot some video next time the opportunity arrises and worry about the software after.

Hey Heiko, great images - thanks for sharing! I've been on job the last week, but I've had my small travelling cam (EOS 1000D) ready to hand. The display was visible very early, at the end of civil twilight, around 50° elevation. After a drive by car, I found a suitable place to give the display some shots - seen from Edemissen (east of Hannover / Germany): 21:10 UT 21:16 UT Detail 21:22 UT 21:28 UT 21:33 UT Detail Because I had to get up early the next day, I had to stop imaging just before midnight, so I missed the outstanding mornng display. Anyway, after a long time of waiting this has been my first (very ) positive observation of the current season, and one of the best displays over the past couple of years **yeah**
